Pirates as we know them are synonymous with crime, violence, and fights, which often removes some parts of their bodies. As eye patches and hands that are replaced by hooks have become the hallmark of pirates, this may also inspire One Piece Anime. You need to know that in the One Piece anime several characters have imperfect body parts, both from battles and other reasons. In this article, I will discuss some one piece characters who have one-handed.
Overview of One Piece Anime
One Piece is a manga created by mangaka named Eichiro Oda, published on July 22, 1997, until now. One Piece Manga also has Anime, Original Video Anime (OVA), and several Movies. The anime itself currently runs on episode 941. For those who don’t know, One Piece is a manga that tells the journey of a child named Monkey D. Luffy, who has the strength of an elastic body (rubber) to reach his dream of becoming a pirate king and finding the greatest treasure is One Piece.
One-handed One Piece Anime Characters
In fact, Eiichiro Oda not only made his character lose several limbs but in several cases, Oda added wounds that made the character unique to him. Like Luffy himself has a wound with a large cross on his stomach, so even Zoro has an incision wound on his eye. Here we can see that Oda doesn’t hesitate to add elements of injury to each of his characters. So, here are some One Piece Anime characters who have one-handed.
First, Akagami Shank
Akagami Shank is one of the strongest characters in One Piece Anime. He is one of the Yonkou or pirate emperors, numbering four. Shank lost his hand when saving Luffy from a sea monster attack, this happened in manga chapter 1 or in the anime episode 4. Actually, Oda himself didn’t want Shank’s hand to be removed, but this was an idea from the editor.
Crocodile is one of the former shichibukai, namely 7 strong pirate groups who collaborate with the world government. Crocodile made his debut in manga chapter 126 and in anime episode 76. He is the main antagonist of the Alabasta Arc, where he leads a criminal syndicate called Baroque Works.
Maybe many don’t realize that Crocodile has lost his hand, as we know that one of Crocodile’s hands has been replaced by a hook. This Crocodile character may have inspired the character of Captain Hook in the Peter Pan animation, as we know that Captain Hook lost his hand to a crocodile.
Third, Eustass Kid
Eustass Kid or better known as Captain Kid is one of the twelve pirates who hold the title of the worst generation. It first appeared in manga chapter 498 and in anime episode 392. As we know for those who follow the One Piece anime, Eustass Kid only has one-handed and the other is a mechanical (iron) hand. He lost his hand in the two-year time skip during a duel against one of the Yonkou, Shank.
Nekomamushi is a cat who comes from the Mink tribe of the Zou population, besides that he has also sailed a ship with the Pirate King, Gol D. Roger. If we look at the chapters of the last few weeks, the character Nekomamushi lost his left hand and was replaced by a sword against Kaido. He lost his left hand when faced with Kaido’s men, Jack on the island of Zou.
Most recently, the one-armed person on the One Piece character is Kikunojo, in Chapter 993, which was caused by an attack from Kaido, the Invisible Slash.
Kikunojo himself is one of the 9 swordsmen of Kozuki Oden’s followers and a younger brother of Izo who is a Whitebeard pirate. Many think that what Kikunojo experienced is a sacrifice that is small compared to the previous Acr. As we know, we lost Pedro and Pekoms against Big Mom in the Whole Cake Island Arc.
